GW Hillel: The FOUNDATION FOR
JEWISH CAMPUS Life
The new Hillel at The George Washington University is a built-to-suit institutional building that serves the Jewish student population on campus through social, cultural, and religious events that foster students’ connection with their Jewish faith and identity. Hillel was designed to help Jewish students grow, evolve and cultivate their identities. The design is a visual representation of this, using the Hebrew words p'shat (literal interpretation) and d'rash (poetic interpretation) practiced by rabbis and religious scholars, to represent the journey from a young student to an individual with a deeper understanding of self.
Hickok Cole Creative collaborated with Hickok Cole Architects to design a perforated bronze screen and exterior details for GW Hillel.
